Overview

The Desono DS01 is a powerful remote controlled, 8 channel, mic-pre to MADI/AES/ADAT converter.

The unit can convert mic or line level signals into PCM or DSD (Direct Stream Digital) data formats.

A pre-amp output allows the DS01 to be used as an analog gain stage.

The amazing feature set of the DS01 is available at an unbelievably low price.

The DS01 has full front panel 'local' control, in addition to remote control over local or wide area networks, through the open source OSC protocol.

A PC based GUI offers control of all parameters, with full range metering per channel.

Alternatively the Tango controller from SmartAV can control the DS01. The DS01 smoothly integrates with any Mix Engine or DAW choice within the Tango software.

The DS01 has 8 balanced pre-amp inputs, accessed via discrete XLR or 1/4" stereo jack.

Each pre-amp stage has a gain range of 10-65dB, adjustable in 1dB steps. In addition, every channel has multiple relay controlled parameters, including polarity, 20dB pad, and a 48V phantom power enable.

The pre-amp stage can be bypassed for line level signals, and a unique auto-gain feature allows snapshot setting of gain for selected channels when setup time is at a premium.

The pre-amp input is a 'sniff' input which minimizes loading on the source microphone or split. 

The DS01 can convert the analog input data to PCM at any standard rate or to DSD (Direct Stream Digital). The resulting digital streams can be output as AES, ADAT or MADI formats.
