8-Channel D-A Converter Delivering unrivalled sonic purity at affordable prices. the GXD8 can operate in both PCM (up to 24 bit/192kHz) and DSD (Direct Stream Digital) formats. AES/EBU is available as standard but flexible connectivity is ensured by a comprehensive range of optional interfaces including ADAT, MADI and DSD. Audio Quality The GXD8 employs a DSP free design, precision crystal based phase locked loops, and ultra-low noise and distortion analogue circuitry to deliver unrivalled sonic purity in critical audio recording and production applications. PCM and DSD In standard form the GXD8 is equipped to convert 8 channels of DSD or up to 24 bit/96kHz digital audio to analogue, or 4 channels of 24 bit/192kHz. An optional AES expansion card adds 4 extra AES inputs to the 4 supplied as standard, enabling 8 channel 24 bit/192kHz conversion in dual wire mode. The addition of an optional DSD input card equips the GXD8 for 8 channel conversion from DSD (Direct Stream Digital). MADI An optional MADI card allows up to 8 channels of digital data to be extracted from a MADI stream. The MADI card has both coaxial and optical connectors and
switches to select the input source and MADI format. Two
formats are available, A miniature rotary switch enables a specific bank of 8 channels of the MADI stream to be selected for conversion back to analogue. Audio over IP An optional Audio over IP receiver card can receive audio data originally transmitted over a local or wide area network from the D-Mix DSD Mix Engine. The AOIP card turns the GXD8 into a web server with its own IP address. The web server can be accessed over LAN or WAN for setup and analysis of receive statistics. |
