D-Mix is a networkable digital audio mix engine whose core operates in Direct Stream Digital (DSD) ensuring amazing sound quality. Three full duplex MADI I/O ports and 8 channels of balanced analogue in and out offer a highly flexible and scalable interface across multiple applications. Control Ethernet control is via the open source OSC protocol. Multiple control surfaces can simultaneously access and monitor the engine over LAN or WAN. A PC based control GUI (right) can be used to setup and access the full feature set of the mix core. Alternatively the unique SmartAV controllers and D-Mix can combine to produce an amazingly powerful DSD mixing console. Direct Stream Digital D-Mix uses unique technology exclusively licensed from Oxford Digital to create a 63 input digital audio mix engine whose core operates in true-DSD. This enables the user to operate in the DSD domain without compromising features or performance. All operations including 4 band EQ and dynamics processing per channel, are calculated in true-DSD. Analogue Inputs and Outputs D-Mix provides eight built in analogue inputs and outputs on industry standard 25 pin D' sub connectors. The onboard analogue to digital converters operate in DSD mode for superior sonic performance. The converters borrow design cues from the renowned GXA8 and GXD8 external converters. MADI Inputs and Outputs D-Mix includes three full duplex MADI I/O ports as a standard feature. Each port has optical and coaxial connectors available with both optical and coax driven simultaneously on the output side. The MADI ports can operate in standard/extended mode for interfacing to third party devices. But for maximum performance the MADI ports can operate in the proprietary Desono mode. In this mode up to 64 channels of DSD data can be carried over one optical fiber or coax cable. Input and Output Routing D-Mix has silent input and output router switching. On the input side any one of up to 200 available inputs can be routed to the Mix Core. On the output side any output can be driven to one or more of the 200 available outputs. Scalabilty D-Mix can support up to 63 channels of I/O but for larger systems, multiple D-Mix units can be daisy chained together under common control to provide up to 252 inputs.
